FAQs

Q:

Does Rooted hold to a specific faith?

A:

Yes, Rooted holds to the traditional, historic interpretation of the Bible, agreeing to the Trinity in unity, and the sufficiency of the Bible.  Please see the section entitled "What We Believe" for our complete statement of faith.  As a UTCH member co-op, all participating families are required to agree with and sign the statement of faith.

Q:

What ages of students can come to Rooted?

A:

We have a nursery and classes for preschool (3 ½ and potty trained through Kindergarten), as well as grades 1-3, 4-6, and 7-12.

Q:

When and where does Rooted meet?

A:

We meet in Roy on Mondays from 10 am to 2pm, for 10 weeks in Fall and 10 weeks in Spring.

Q:

What's expected of the parent when the co-op is meeting?

A:

We are not a drop-off co-op.  One parent must commit to being present on campus while they have a student on campus.

While on campus, parents/guardians are engaged with tasks such as: teaching or helping, serving in the nursery, monitoring halls and bathrooms, substituting for sick teachers, teacher's helpers, cleaning, etc.

Families who choose to participate in this co-op are asked to commit to regular attendance, missing only because of illness or emergency or pre-arrangements made in advance with leadership.

Q:

How much does it cost to participate?

A:

We expect the total cost of participation to be about $100/family/year.  Rooted has a registration fee of $50, UTCH has a registration fee of $35, and there may be supplies you need to purchase for your students' classes, such as art supplies, a book, or a costume.  We have worked hard to keep Rooted affordable while not compromising on quality.

(Registration with UTCH in July or August is required to participate in Rooted; we have no control over their registration fee.)
